Stories, singing, crafts, and holiday parties!



"Show and Tell" will be on the first Wednesday of the month.

There will be a theme for every week and a calendar for the parents.

Some days we will have special themed items which may be brought in.

Birthday treats will be done on the first Wednesday of the month
for all the children having birthdays that month.
Parents must supply a treat.  Participation is optional.

Reading Programs

Summer 2011 Reading Program!
June 14 through July 19

The Reading Program is open to children ages two to Grade 12.

The program begins Tuesday, June 14.  The guidelines are very simple.

Participating children, ages two through preschool
are asked to read 20 age-appropriate books each week and write them in their log.

Children in grades Kindergarten through the 2nd grade
are asked to read 15 age-appropriate books.

Children in grades 3 through 5 are asked to read 400 pages.

Junior High and High School participants are to read 500 pages.

Each time this goal is achieved, they will receive a
certificate, a prize, and a ticket to enter a drawing for a bigger prize!

Summer Reading Program

Times:
Preschool through 2nd grade:  10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
3rd grade through 5th grade:  1:00 to 2:30 p.m.

We will also have Wild & Wacky weekly programs for all ages.
There will be a special program for children
on the following six Wednesdays.

SUMMER'S READING PROGRAM!

August Train Ride
For those students who completed the reading requirements.

You're never too old to ride a train!
 

Travel through the rural farm country of Starke and southern LaPorte counties.
Flowers, butterflies, wildlife and lots of Indiana crops are visible from the train.

Ride in various styles of railroad cabooses and an open-air sightseeing car.

LaCrosse Library

LEGO BUILDERS CLUB

for Grades Kindergarten and Up!

Thursday - December 15

3:15 to 4:30 p.m.

The club will meet every two weeks.

The Reading Express Book Club

Patrons meet monthly to discuss a book selected by the group.

The next meeting is Monday, March 5, 2012, at 7:00 p.m.

The book to be discussed is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society
by Mary Ann Shaffer.
