Preschool Story Time

for ages 2 to 5

every Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Stories, singing, crafts, and holiday parties!



"Show and Tell" will be on the first Wednesday of the month.

There will be a theme for every week and a calendar for the parents.

Some days we will have special themed items which may be brought in.

Birthday treats will be done on the first Wednesday of the month
for all the children having birthdays that month.
Parents must supply a treat.  Participation is optional.

June 2 was our last Story Time,
and we had a great indoor/outdoor party!

Story Time will resume in the fall.

 

 

 

National Library Week

Mary Ketchmark, a local artist, gave a

Painting Demonstration

in the Community room
at the LaCrosse Public Library
on April 19.

She created an oil painting in one hour!

The painting was given away as a door prize.

The lucky winner was Shirley  Frank!


 


 

The community was invited to a

Health and Wellness

presentation at the library

given by Bill Frank on April 21.

Everyone who attended this program was eligible for a
ticket to win a $25.00 GIFT CARD!
 


 

 

KIDS!

A movie for kids was shown at the library

on Saturday, April 24.

 

 


 

During the week's celebration,
visitors at the library were able to register for door prizes.

There were daily drawings and also
GRAND PRIZE drawings at the end of the week.

 

 

 


Easter Reading Program for KIDS - 2010

Win a basket!

For each book read, a child earned a ticket
to win an Easter basket!

The two lucky winners were drawn on April 2!

 

 


Summer Reading Programs

 

 

 
   


You're never too old to ride a train!
 

Travel through the rural farm country of Starke and southern LaPorte counties.
Flowers, butterflies, wildlife and lots of Indiana crops are visible from the train.

Ride in various styles of railroad cabooses and an open-air sightseeing car.

June 2010 Reading Program

Read!

Summer 2010 Reading Program!
June 21 through July 30

The Reading Program is open to children ages 3 to 12.

There will also be a Teen Reading Club called
Make Waves

for grades 6 and up.


The program begins Monday, June 21.
Come in during that week and sign up for the Summer Reading Club.
There will be reading goals for each age level.
When your reading goal is reached, you will receive a prize
and also be entered into our Grand Prize drawing.

WILD & WACKY

We will also have Wild & Wacky weekly programs for all ages.
There will be a special program for children
on the following six Wednesdays at 1 p.m.

Washington Park Zoo - at the library

Bubbleologist - at the library

On June 30 the LaCrosse Fire Department brought a fire truck to the library.
The kids enjoyed the water!


 

 
 
 

 


On July 7
a hundred kids and adults
came to the library shelter
to see animals from
the Washington Park Zoo.


 

 
 
 

 

 

 

On July 14 Keith Evans, a
BUBBLEOLOGIST
entertained the kids and adults.

 

 
 

The bubbles began small
and grew larger
until they enveloped the kids!

 

 

On July 21 the kids tie-dyed t-shirts!

 
 

 

Book Club

Patrons meet monthly to discuss a book selected by the group.

The next meeting is Monday, September 27, 2010, at 7:00 p.m.

The book to be discussed is Last Lecture by Randy Pausch.
